Charity

The last and Final Messenger of ALLAH (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said,

“There is a (compulsory) Sadaqa (charity) to be given for every joint of the human body (as a sign of gratitude to ALLAH) every day that the sun rises. To judge justly between two persons is regarded as Sadaqa, and to help a man to his ride his animal by helping him to ride it or by lifting his luggage on to it, is also regarded as Sadaqa, and (saying) a good word is also Sadaqa, and every step taken on one’s way to offer the compulsory prayer (in the Masjid) is also Sadaqa and to remove a harmful thing from the way is also Sadaqa.”

[Sahih Bukhari].

So you see, sadaqa is not just giving money. Appreciate what you’ve got from ALLAH and stop complaining to help you gain more from ALLAH.

Once a person came to an Alim (scholar in Islam) and complained to him about his poverty, saying that he was in great distress and would prefer death to such a life.

The Alim said to him, “Are you willing to have your eyes taken out in exchange for ten thousand Dirhams (silver coins)?” He replied, “Certainly not!” The Alim then asked, “Would you agree to have your hands and feet cut off in return for twenty thousand Dirhams?” The man said that he would not agree to any such thing.

So the Alim asked if he were at least willing to be made a mad man in exchange for ten thousand Dirhams. The man said that he was not willing.

At this, the Alim said to him, “Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? You admit that ALLAH Ta’ala has granted you so many gifts, and yet you complain of poverty!”

[Fadhail-e-Sadaqaat].

The value of ALLAH’S ’s gifts is fully understood when we lose them. Let us be more thankful to our Lord by using HIS gifts to praise, worship and obey HIM. Let’s strive to praise ALLAH regardless of our situation.

Say Alhamdulillah alaa kulli haal all the time with eemaan.

May ALLAH have mercy on our lack of appreciation and protect our eemaan from any satanic influences

Aameen.
